Donald Trump Weighs In: Could Don Jr. Be Headed for the White House?

In a recent appearance on the Pod Force One podcast with New York Post journalist Miranda Devine, former President Donald Trump opened up about his children’s political futures—most notably, whether Donald Trump Jr. might one day seek the presidency.

Don Jr.’s Growing Political Presence

Donald Trump Jr. has remained a vocal figure in conservative circles. From his energetic campaigning during his father’s last presidential run to his biweekly political podcast Triggered with Don Jr., he’s carved out his own space in the political arena. Reports even suggest he advocated for J.D. Vance as a possible VP pick.

But does he have his eye on the Oval Office?

Trump’s Take: “I Don’t Know”

When asked directly about his son’s potential presidential ambitions, Trump didn’t give a definitive answer.

“I don’t know. I think all of them probably have a future in politics, frankly. And Don is very good. A good guy. He’s an outdoorsman.”

While complimentary, his remarks stopped short of confirming any concrete plans for Don Jr.

Don Jr. Sets the Record Straight

Don Jr. has already addressed the speculation himself. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), he posted:

“While I’ll never 100% rule it out down the line, I have ZERO interest in running for office in 2028 or anytime soon.”

His candid response may shed light on his father’s hesitation to speak with certainty.

Praise for the Whole Trump Family

Rather than single out Don Jr., Trump used the moment to highlight all of his children:

“Eric has done a fantastic job. Barron is great. He is very tall and good. Ivanka—she’s so great. And Tiffany has done really well. She went to a great law school and did very well. Always a good student.”

Spotlight on Barron: The Rising Star?

At just 19 years old, Barron Trump is already attracting attention—not just for his 6’7” height, but for his academic path. He’s now a student at NYU’s esteemed Stern School of Business.

Speaking to Fox News earlier this year, Trump remarked:

“If you look at my kids, they’ve been very good. Very smart. They love our country and they’re proud of their father.”

A Next-Gen Trump… with Tech Talent

When asked whether Barron leans more toward politics or business, Trump revealed a different strength—technology.

“I turned off his laptop, and five minutes later, it was back on. I asked, ‘How’d you do that?’
He said, ‘None of your business, Dad.’
He’s got an unbelievable aptitude in technology.”
