An active shooter opened fire inside Corewell Health’s Beaumont Troy Hospital early Thursday morning, injuring a patient in the emergency room.
The incident occurred shortly after 7 a.m. ET at the facility, located about 24 miles north of Detroit. The victim, whose identity has not yet been released, was struck by gunfire. Authorities have not confirmed whether the shooting was a targeted attack or a random act of violence.
