Recently, the couple shared a heartfelt video to celebrate their daughter Princess Lilibet’s fourth birthday. The footage offers a rare, intimate look inside the Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital labor room on June 4, 2021—just moments before their baby’s arrival.
In the clip, Meghan and Prince Harry share a joyful dance to Starrkeisha’s catchy tune, The Baby Momma Dance. What was intended as a sweet, lighthearted moment of anticipation, however, has instead stirred up a wave of speculation from some viewers questioning the authenticity of Meghan’s pregnancy.
Accompanying the post, Meghan revealed that both of her children arrived a week past their due dates. “Four years ago today, this also happened,” she wrote. “Both of our children were a week past their due dates… When spicy food, all that walking, and acupuncture didn’t work – there was only one thing left to do!” she added, referencing their playful dance as an attempt to induce labor.
Despite the warm and candid nature of the video, skeptics seized on it as further “proof” fueling ongoing rumors that the Duchess’s pregnancy might have been staged or even carried via surrogacy.
Whether a beautiful family moment or a source of controversy, this video has once again highlighted just how deeply divided public opinion remains when it comes to Meghan and Harry.
Reactions to the video have been wildly divided. Some viewers were quick to express their doubts about Meghan’s pregnancy, with one person bluntly commenting, “Even a blind person can see the poorly stuffed belly is fake.” Another chimed in, “Belly moving everywhere is not a pregnancy belly at all,” while a third simply stated, “She’s not pregnant.”
Critics went further, questioning the physicality of her dance. “A heavily pregnant woman cannot move that way. You can barely walk, let alone twerk. There is nothing solid in there. The surrogacy theory just got another boost,” one online commenter argued.
However, not everyone shared this skepticism. Some defended the couple’s lighthearted moment, with one viewer saying, “Why is it cringey? Fair play to them for being normal and not stuck-up royals.” Another called out the harsh critics: “Imagine being so salty about someone else’s pregnancy—y’all must be so bored with your own lives. This was a trend, have a look on TikTok; she’s not the only one dancing around in the hospital.”
Medical experts also weighed in, noting that dancing during labor isn’t unusual. Studies suggest that movement and dancing can help reduce labor pain, shorten delivery time, and make the overall experience more positive.
As for the doubts about Meghan’s belly shape and size, Dr. Charlsie Celestine reminded everyone, “Just as bodies vary in shape and size, the pregnant belly is different for each individual.” There’s no universal standard for how a pregnancy belly should look or move.
However, these doubts haven’t surfaced out of nowhere. Speculation about Meghan and Harry’s possible use of surrogacy dates back to 2019, when they welcomed their first child, Prince Archie.
Originally, the couple was expected to welcome their baby at Frogmore Cottage, but at the last minute, they switched the location to London’s Portland Hospital. This sudden change only added fuel to the fire for skeptics.
Further suspicion arose because the couple waited two full days before introducing Archie to the public, unlike Prince William and Princess Kate, who proudly presented their newborn on the steps of St. Mary’s Hospital almost immediately.
“This scandal comes as no surprise. Speculation about the children has been simmering for years,” a high-ranking palace insider revealed.
“The kids are sixth and seventh in line to the throne but have been shrouded in cloak-and-dagger secrecy since birth,” the source added. “There are so many questions swirling around them. This controversy won’t die down until the irrefutable truth comes out.”
Royal commentator Lady Colin Campbell also weighed in, suggesting that Meghan Markle “created a situation” fueling rumors that her children were born via surrogacy.
“I think the whole thing stinks to high heaven,” royal commentator Lady Colin Campbell told the outlet. “Clear it up once and for all. There should be no mystery as to who is legitimately in the line of succession.”
Adding fuel to the fire, Meghan’s estranged half-sister, Samantha Markle, made startling claims that sent shockwaves through the public last year.
“If they used a surrogate, admit it,” Samantha urged journalist Dan Wootton.
She went on to reveal that Meghan allegedly retrieved her frozen eggs nine months before Archie’s birth. “My father said nine months before Archie was allegedly born that Meghan picked up her frozen eggs. I thought: ‘That makes sense there would be a surrogate involved,’” Samantha explained.
“But why the secrecy? Instead of lying to the world, just say: ‘We’re using a surrogate.’ Although that would mean the child would be removed from the line of succession because an heir must be born from a titled royal mother.”
