WEST FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – A criminal complaint has been filed against a Fargo man accused of vandalizing a Tesla Cybertruck in the Costco parking lot over the weekend.
Ryan Lyle Williams is facing a possible felony criminal mischief charge after police say he deliberately keyed the futuristic electric vehicle on Saturday.
Thanks to surveillance footage from nearby businesses and the Tesla’s built-in cameras, investigators were able to identify Williams’ vehicle. According to police, he later confessed to the act.
The case has now been forwarded to prosecutors for review.
The incident gained traction online after Tesla owner Mitch Benson shared photos and video of the damage on social media. The post quickly went viral, amassing more than 1,300 shares on Facebook.
