In the early hours of Wednesday morning, tragedy struck on Highway 57 in the Hermanas–Sabinas section at kilometer 68. A passenger bus, numbered 9132 and en route from Ciudad Acuña to Gómez Palacio, Durango, overturned — resulting in at least one confirmed death and several injuries.
Among the injured is a young boy, Jairo, who remains in critical condition after being rushed to Clinic 7 of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) in Monclova. Authorities report that at least five others sustained injuries in the violent rollover.
As investigators work to determine what caused the crash, families of the victims anxiously await updates — their lives forever changed by a morning that began like any other.
