Florida Hairstylist Fatally Stabbed in Parking Garage — Suspect Reportedly Confesses
SUNRISE, FL — Hailey Hosford, a 27-year-old hairstylist and yoga retreat instructor, was brutally stabbed to death in a parking garage at The Retreat at Sawgrass Village, just moments before she was set to head home.
The attack occurred around 1:30 a.m. on May 28. Surveillance footage captured a chilling scene: 21-year-old Jackson Julian Sagesse Jr. approaching Hosford’s parked Mercedes. As she attempted to get back into her vehicle, he forced the door open and stabbed her multiple times.
A male friend who had briefly stepped away returned during the assault and tried to intervene. He was stabbed in the throat but survived and was able to alert authorities.
Sagesse has reportedly confessed to the crime. Police have not yet released a motive.
Hosford was found unresponsive and pronounced dead at 2:01 a.m.
Police arrested Sagesse at his nearby apartment shortly afterward. Officers recovered two steak knives—one in his pocket, the other in his car—both of which matched a kitchen set in his residence. During questioning, Sagesse reportedly confessed to the killing, stating chillingly, “I just killed someone and walked away.”
Loved ones are mourning the devastating loss. “There’s evil, and there’s good—we lost the good,” said Aubrey Rosebrock, a close friend of Hailey’s. Friends and family described her as vibrant, kind-hearted, and a source of light in every room she entered.
A GoFundMe campaign launched in Hailey’s memory has raised over $14,500 to support funeral expenses and honor her life.
