Beloved Reality Star Keke Jabbar Passes Away at 42
A tragic loss has shaken fans and loved ones alike. Ne’Keshia Dawson Jabbar—better known to reality TV viewers and social media followers as Keke Jabbar—has sadly passed away at the age of 42. She died peacefully at her home in Alabama, surrounded by love. The cause of her death has not been disclosed, leaving fans stunned and searching for answers.
Keke rose to national prominence through her appearances on the popular unscripted series Love & Marriage: Huntsville, where she became known for her vibrant personality and candid presence. The show, which follows the lives of successful African-American couples and their joint efforts to revitalize Huntsville, Alabama through real estate ventures, attracted over 400,000 viewers in a single January 13 episode.
Keke was married to security expert Ameen Jabbar, and together they shared three children—two sons and a daughter. One of their sons, Ace Jabbar, was known locally for playing football at Sparkman High School.
Her cousin, LaTisha Scott, is also a major figure in the reality TV world, with nearly 190,000 Instagram followers. She, too, has appeared on Love & Marriage: Huntsville and shared her heartbreak publicly after the news broke.
“At this time, we are asking for RESPECT and PRIVACY in our time of grief as we deal with this great loss. This is really tough for our family,” LaTisha wrote on social media.
The first public announcement of Keke’s passing came from blogger Marcella Speaks during a YouTube livestream. She read a statement said to be from the family, which described Keke as “a mom, a sister, and a great friend, full of life, love, and laughter.”
Though she had not been active on social media in recent weeks, Keke had a loyal following of over 18,000 fans. Her final Instagram post, dated May 27, 2024, showed her enjoying Memorial Day with friends by the pool and promoting her new line of swimwear.
“I’m at the pool with a few of my friends just kicking Memorial Day off with some fun people,” she wrote, smiling in the accompanying photo.
In her Instagram bio, Keke described herself as a writer, editor, author, professor, TV personality, educator, and speaker—a true multi-hyphenate who lived life boldly and authentically.
The mystery surrounding her death has only deepened the grief of fans and followers, many of whom remember her as a woman of intelligence, ambition, and undeniable charisma.
