The cherished Emmy-winning actress Valerie Mahaffey, known for her memorable roles in Young Sheldon, Desperate Housewives, and Northern Exposure, has died at the age of 71.
Her publicist, Jillian Roscoe, confirmed that Mahaffey passed away on May 30 in Los Angeles after a courageous fight with cancer.
Mahaffey’s husband, fellow actor Joseph Kell, paid a heartfelt tribute, saying,
“I have lost the love of my life, and America has lost one of its most endearing actresses. She will be deeply missed.”
The couple is survived by their daughter, Alice Richards.
