State of Mexico – On Wednesday, November 20, a serious multi-vehicle collision occurred on the Mexico–Querétaro Highway at kilometer 059+000, near Huehuetoca, in the State of Mexico.
The accident was triggered when a trailer failed to stop in time, crashing into several vehicles and ultimately coming to rest spanning all three north-south lanes. The massive impact led to a partial closure of the highway, causing major traffic disruptions in the area.
Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the crash and working to clear the roadway.

Cause of the Accident and Road Conditions
According to initial reports, the trailer was heading toward Mexico City when the driver failed to brake in time, crashing into a roadside embankment before colliding with five cars and a pickup truck. Authorities suspect that wet pavement from recent rainfall may have contributed to the crash. An official investigation is underway to determine the exact cause.
Injuries and Medical Response
Emergency services and paramedics quickly arrived at the scene. Fortunately, only minor injuries were reported. However, as a precaution, several individuals were advised to seek hospital evaluation to rule out any delayed complications.
Second Incident Causes Further Delays
In a separate accident on the same highway, a tanker trailer spilled fuel at kilometer 95.5, near Soyaniquilpan de Juárez. This led to the complete closure of all lanes in the area, compounding traffic delays for drivers already affected by the earlier collision.
Authorities are urging drivers to exercise extreme caution on wet roads and to stay informed about alternate routes as cleanup and investigations continue.
